Sunflowers growing on my block

posted Friday, 14 September 2007

All summer I have been watching the sunflowers growing on my block. I have neighbors down the street who have been growing fantastic sunflowers right by their front door.

I've been taking photographs, cutting them up and gluing them into the pictures for my book that I am working on. This is the picture I was working on today. It isn't quite finished but it is coming along. It was so much fun making the garden of sunflowers!

I thought I succeeded in posting earlier today, but I don't see it. This won't be exactly the same, though.

Art should always be fun, a new discovery each time we engage with it. What I always see in your art, Monica, is perhaps the best: spontaneous joy.

Sorry, I just got to the computer! You are right: art is full of those "what if I do this?" moments, as you mentioned when you wrote before. Constantly having to make decisions: difficult but fun, isn't it!
