I regularly ride my bicycle here in New York City - for years it has been my prefered way of getting around. But I'm sure the streets have been steadily getting more and more crowded with cars, and less safe for the few of us that venture out on bicycles. And actually my personal gripe is with all the restaurant delivery people who insist on riding their bicycles on the wrong side of the street, in the dark, with no lights. That and taxis with doors that suddenly swing open really pose a terrible hasard.
And so I've been missing the wonderful experience of bicycling in Copenhagen this summer. I want to add a couple of photos here of typical scenes of parked bicycles in all shapes and sizes. (People haul around their kids in the buggy-type contraptions and the whole family look they are always having a good time!) Isn't this better than choatic traffic jams of honking cars, taxis, trucks and buses? Would it really be impossible to trade cars in for bicycles here in New York too?!
